Let me start by saying this is NOT a project for amateur's! (which we were!!!) And the signs at Petsmart next to the doggie doors are VERY misleading! It takes longer than an hour, it is not as easy as 1,2,3, and it takes way more tools than that! But here it is - our very first doggie door!! Right now, they are going through it with no problems if I have the flap taped up. But, we have already made progress. Yesterday, Jax would only go through with me coaxing him with a treat. Today, he has gone through on his own. Now...we are going to try for putting the flap down and going through! Wish us luck! He isn't very graceful about it at all!! It's like he thinks it's gonna get him and he trys to jump through! hee-hee! The cat, Simba, loves it! He is the poster child for "make up your mind - in or out!" He drives us all nuts on scrapbook nights! But now, he can come and go as he pleases!! yay! So...I definately have a cat door (which we all knew would happen) and hopefully a doggie door too! :-) And yes, it locks at night to keep the oppossum's safely outside where they belong!

I think doggy doors are awesome, but I would be scared to take on that task! Good job though. Although I think that Petsmart and any do-it-yourself place ALWAYS makes it look easier than it is. It look s great though! Yeah for you!
Awww.. Jax is the cutest!
