Happy New Year!!

A new year means making resolutions...I've seen some good ones! I decided to look back at my 2008 resolutions & do a check up before making new ones. It seems like since I stopped saying things like I will work out or lose weight, I do much better with my resolutions! ha!

Here was 2008:
*continue NOT smoking (I've made it just over a year now!) I can officially take this one off the list this year. It has been over 2 years now since I've smoked!! And, I no longer have the faintest desire! woo-hoo!!!
*now I need to be brave enough to join the church instead of just visiting each week Kevin & I struggled to find the right church all year, and I have to say that John 3:16 is our home church. I wrote my first tithe check today! yippee!
*read more ~ not just when I am on vacation from school, but year round! 14 books and counting...
*slow down and enjoy the moment I am IN! :-) Better keep this one on the list because I could still improve on enjoying the moment and not looking ahead...

2009 Resolutions ~ drumroll.......
This year I will:
*Continue to work on enjoying the moment I am IN...all the little moments too! :-) Sometimes I am much better at this than others!
*Start sending birthday and anniversary cards in the mail rather than using the internet and email.
*Find time everyday for quiet Bible reading & prayer.

And, I challenge myself to read even more books in 2009 than in 2008!!! (Less tv and more reading)

I wish everyone a Happy New Year and all of us lots of luck and perseverance in keeping our resolutions!! LOL!
Now, I may disappear for a few days while I go into a heavy denial that I have to actually go back to work on Monday!! Bummer! I kind of like this staying at home and still getting a paycheck stuff! ha!

Happy New Year!!

It's hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone...and now it's 2008! Time flies...I look back over the past year's ups and downs and wonder, what will 2008 bring? I got a feelin' it's gonna be GOOD! :-)

For the first time EVER, I kept my resolutions from last year:
For 2007
I will:
*not smoke!! (today marks 3 weeks of no smoking! I am on my way!!)
*find a small church to start attending
*keep on living life, enjoying the journey, and giggling daily!!!!

So, the pressure is on to do just as good in 2008! LOL! I am going to keep them simple and realistic again ~ maybe that was the trick...

For 2008
I will:
*continue NOT smoking (I've made it just over a year now!)
*now I need to be brave enough to join the church instead of just visiting each week
*read more ~ not just when I am on vacation from school, but year round!
*slow down and enjoy the moment I am IN! :-)

I wish everyone (including me) good luck & perseverance with their resolutions for the New Year!

Have a GREAT DAY! I have one more day of vacation after today...:-(

Check Up...

...on those New Year's Resolution's! It's March 1st!!

Here they were from my January 1st post:
For 2007 I will:
*not smoke!! (today marks 3 weeks of no smoking! I am on my way!!)
*find a small church to start attending
*keep on living life, enjoying the journey, and giggling daily!!!!

As of today:
*I have still not smoked!!! YIPPEE!! I am so proud of me! It has been 3 months!! (and I know I have it licked b/c when Kevin and I went to the casino, I walked in and couldn't breathe for all the smoke - yuck!) They say an ex-smoker is worse than someone who has never smoked at all! ha!
*I have only missed church twice. (once I was sick and once I had a fundraiser) Granted, with all my weekend travelin', I haven't found a "home" church - still just visiting!
*and yep, I have giggled daily - even if it is at myself! :-)

It's the first day of the new year & that means time for new year's resolutions!! I'm going to be realistic with mine! I am actually continuing the ones from last year b/c I only just got a good handle on them in the past month! ha!

For 2007 I will:
*not smoke!! (today marks 3 weeks of no smoking! I am on my way!!)
*find a small church to start attending
*keep on living life, enjoying the journey, and giggling daily!!!!

I have to say even with a few bumps in the road (and hey, that is what keeps life interesting!), last year was a good year for me! I am happy, healthy, independent, have a great family & awesome friends! Can't wait to see what 2007 has in store for me!!!
